ODI - Design, Build, Furnish
ODI is a small office refurbishment firm based in Kent. Working with clients around the country, they were looking at ways to expand and grow their business. Their first objective: overhaul their dated brand and website.
The goals of the project were to provide ODI with an attractive, professional branding system and website. They needed a brand which would sit effortlessly amongst the bigger outfitting companies and a website which could be used to showcase previous clients, secure new work and generate leads.
We carried out primary research into competing companies in the office refurbishment industry. We were able to outline what their weaknesses and strengths were and put together a profile of how other brands fit into the marketplace. We then got to work designing a brand and website which conveyed their personality and enabled them to compete with their larger competitors.
We began exploring different options for the brand. The focus was primarily on professionalism and trust whilst retaining their creative streak. The conceptual stages for the logo design leaned largely towards abstract form. We wanted to put a lot of options on the table for the guys at ODI we felt it was important that they were presented with a number of different, viable routes.
We began to whittle down the concepts to a select few, until finally we were able to deliver a brand that ODI loved. We tweaked everything from letter spacing to the radius of the box corners to ensure the brand was personal and perfect for ODI.
The website design was focussed around white space, creativity and photography. There were some fantastic case study images which we used to drive the visual language. We kept the style clean, tidy and structured but allowed the white space to create a sense of space.
It was important to build a website where ODI were capable of updating and managing the content as they needed. We chose WordPress for its intuitive and powerful content handling capabilities. We then custom made a framework to sit on top of the WordPress architecture and tailored it exactly for the needs of the ODI team.
In addition to the powerful CMS, we also hand built the site to be mobile and tablet friendly.
To accompany the website, ODI needed extra marketing material to bolster their efforts. We handled the design and print of a 24 page, full colour marketing brochure. We kept the visual language consistent throughout, to align with the new website design and branding.
